The oysters were the best and largest we've had all week. Get them baked - so good! And the pickles delicious and loved that we had some great $9.99 deals - the shrimp scampi is always great with lots of garlic. We've come here for two decades and will continue.

My 12 year old and I went there to eat seafood. I got the fried seafood platter and my daughter got the kids popcorn shrimp. The portions were good and the food was great. We received our food faster than we did in McDonald's. The server was great and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food at Scampy's is surprisingly good. The place is really busy and there appears to always be a wait. They establishment is not much to write home about, but the food is good. The prices are average. Everything we ordered was good! I would definitely recommend this place.

Came in for lunch at about 3 pm. No one took our order for 20 min. They didn't even know we were sitting at a table. Food was average, nothing special. Messed up our bill as well. Would not recommend it.

Meagan was the best! Two years ago our visit was below what the management and the Panama tourism board would prefer. 2012 we were redeemed with Megan's touch. Next year, were here sooner! Take good care of the See you next year!

We visited Scampy's only because I had a restaurant.com certificate. The place was packed! The service was average. The food was average. Now before you read the rest of my post...I don't eat seafood, so I'm judging this place based on their burger. I've had better, I've had worse. Brian said the same about his salmon dish...it was just average.

Service was great. I got the Fried Mahi and shrimp. It was ok but nothing outstanding. My wife got the ribeye. It was 22 dollars and not worth it. The meat was thin and not a great cut.

A fantastic local place in Panama City Beach. Our family eats here at least every time we are in town. The lunch specials are wonderful and the shrimp scampy pasta dish is DELICIOUS. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Overall, a delicious seafood eatery that we will continue to eat at for years to come!

This is one of our regular stops in PCB. Good food and a nice local atmosphere. It's nothing spectacular, but solid food at a reasonable price!
(4)Mike S.
The southwestern rib-eye is the bomb! The white sauce and au-juice is SOOO good you don't even need steak sauce
(5)Richard N.
Oyster's were $5.99 not a bad price and the Grouper sandwich was good. My wife liked her meal.
(3)Paul N.
Excellent service, blackened shrimp, fried shrimp, fish medallions, and blackened whitefish were all excellent. Did I mention the service was excellent?
(4)Frank U.
One of my favorite places in Panama City for seafood.

First visit by a new permanent resident. Ordered the country fried steak with mashed potatoes, gravy and salad. Loved the blu cheese dressing. Steak tender and well seasoned. Mashed potatoes what they should be. Gravy well seasoned. Saving some for biscuits on Sunday. Service great. Will be black.

They were out of shrimp my husband wanted and the popcorn shrimp my daughter and I ordered was not fresh. It tasted like it came out of a bag from the grocery store. I would not recommend this place for fresh sea food at all.

Okay, it's not a ritzy seafood destination restaurant, but it's a decent place to get a basket of seafood that's pure vacation-worthy at a reasonable price. The hush puppies are dense, if you like them that way, which I do. The fries are crisp and not over-seasoned. The seafood is recognizable as seafood and not some mystery-of-the-deep concoction. The wait staff is fast, fun, and deserves good tips. That I can tell you is hard to find in a tourist town. The place is easy to get to and easy to park. It's family-friendly but they never make me feel unwelcome when I show up by myself.

I won't tell you how lousy this place is, I'll tell you about my experience and see if you think the rating is just. I ordered the fried shrimp for 16.99 and found out this "platter you get a little bit more with" turned into a basket of fries and shrimp, the shrimp were good I admit. The waiter made no small talk and seemed annoyed that my girlfriend chose not to order anything, he also made three trips to our table when both our drinks were completely empty ( they are literally listed under "bottomless" drinks on the menu ). When the waiter brought my change back he didn't give me my change, possibly in an attempt to get a 78 cent tip easily, I'm not sure. I called him out on it and he gave me another dollar. Having been properly reimbursed I started to leave, as my girlfriend and I walked by the waiter on out the door he had the nerve to say "all that and they didn't even tip". This place may be nice but this being my only experience I will never be back and I suggest to anyone that may think of going here to search around, there are many many better seafood places a stones throw away.

Service: AWFUL!!! First off, there were 7 adults and 1 kid in our party and they sat us immediately, that meant, they weren't busy. They didn't give us a kid menu, my 3-year-old daughter asked and asked and asked, she didn't get it 'til we were almost done. They brought us our oysters and salads and there was one tiny fork for the oysters, so we asked for forks and she told us, "I don't know, I'll try to get some, but I don't know if there enough for everybody." Seriously? She'll "try"? So she expected us to eat without forks if she failed? It took her 30 minutes to get the forks! Food: The oysters were tiny, but expected because it's not in season, so I'm not holding them to that. I had the popcorn shrimps so I can share with my daughter because she didn't get the menu, it was OK. The fries that came with it was OK and the hush puppies were dry. Conclusion: Bring your own fork to taste "average."

Their grilled fish was excellent! Quick service and great staff.
(5)Julia S.
Okay my friends love your fried pickles...I am guessing I just order the wrong meal? I got a white fish was too oileyyy...and sides are not fresh. Was going to get the fruit of the day but it was in a can. Had a super nice waitress.
(2)Tiff Y.
Terrible! Awful atmosphere, service and food. Much better places to eat all around- skip this one!
(2)Tara C.
I had a coupon for this restaurant and it was ok. We just got appetizers and drinks, nothing special just ok. Oysters small but not bad.
(3)Randall M.
I'm a local that use to eat at this location all the time, but not anymore. The waitress did nothing, but complain the whole time. Then once the food was delivered it was horrible. It was cold like it was sitting for sometime. It got to the point I just wanted my bill it was more then disgusting. I'm usually excellent about tipping, but for the first time in my life I tipped a dollar and left.
(1)Benjamin E.
Some of the best seafood & oysters we've ate in a long time. Very accommodating with our kids. Ask to be waited on by Aimee, she was absolutely outstanding!
(5)Bob T.
The food at Scampy's is really good. Our table enjoyed the fried shrimp and the blackened basa. Service ....on our two visits...ranged from good to poor. The sides we had were forgettable but the atmosphere is what you expect for a beach-side restaurant. Overall a good place to eat.
(4)Cay C.
Dark and dirty. My husband and I stopped there for lunch. Ordered oyster Po Boy. The worst I have ever had. Oysters did not taste fresh and bun was not going. Don't go there.
(1)Andrew D.
I've eaten here several times, but I wanted to wait until a more recent trip before writing a review. I had lunch there yesterday and I'm happy to report it's the same ol' Scampy's. The cool thing about this place is their "10 for 10" menu. It's ten seafood plates for ten dollars or less. Most of them are delicious and filling. This time I chose to go with a l lunch special; the Lunch Seafood Platter. It comes with fried flounder fillet, a stuffed crab, two fried shrimp, hush puppies, and two sides. They have vegetable of the day, and this time it was field peas; they were awesome. If you like fried pickles, then you must try Scampy's offering. They're probably some of the best fried pickles I've ever eaten. The bottom line: This place is a great deal and the food is delicous, but it's abundance of fried seafood is not for everyone.
(3)Chris B.
Seating was quick and waitress was good prompt and accurate. The food is delicious and plentiful with just enough room for a very delicious piece of key lime pie that is to die for. If you have any desire to go to Dirty dicks forget it, come here get better service way better food and pay half as much. I local place that the rest need to find.
(5)John R.
Had blackened shrimp, also had it from Montego Bay (two doors down). Scampy's was blackened but also had flavor and won in comparison. Got food to go, Wait staff was nice, But were very informal to each other while I sat and waited for my food.
(4)Mike S.
Great Service. Seems Family run. Great Gulf shrimp ( NOT frozen Chinese Shrimp). I have been here a few times over 10 years never disappointed!
(5)Lacy B.
Food is excellent here! I had raw oysters, which was a generous serving & fresh, delicious, say outside, so got to watch them be shucked! Also, had the blackened mahi which was well seasoned & cooked! Very friendly server, attended to our every need & prompt! Only bad thing was the tables were a little sticky outside. Otherwise it's awesome fast service &right by the beaches!

Service was lousy and shrimp scampi turned my stomach. Kiddo like his jumbo shrimp and chowder. Skip this one.
(1)Jenny D.
Came in with my parents on their last night in town. We were sat within ten minutes. Food was excellent. We had the onion blossom for appetizer.... just like a blooming onion from Outback Steakhouse except this sauce is way tastier. I had the shrimp scampi, delicious and huge portion. Husband had blackened Amberjack, I was a little jealous because it was so good. Our server Meesha (probably didn't spell that right) was spot on. Very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Some servers in tourist areas act suicidal. Only reason for 4 stars is that the menu has 3 separate menus that are offered for specific times only, so it can get confusing. Totally recommend.

FOOD - 88/100 pts SERVICE - 96 AMBIANCE - 84 FOOD: Both the fried and grilled shrimp we had were very good. I know fresh Gulf shrimp when I taste it and these were the authentic card. Dinner salads were a bit puny but the homemade blue cheese dressing was outstanding. Fries and hush puppies are standard sides and were basically ok - nothing to get excited about. SERVICE: We had outstanding service from the minute we walked in the door. Our waitress was very personable and never missed a single detail. AMBIANCE: This is a restaurant with a small dining room and very casual atmosphere. Back home in Louisiana we would call this a "seafood joint". No need to dress for this one, just come as you are. Lackluster but charming in its own right. Overall a decent place to check out and prices are much lower than most other seafood restaurants in the area. If on vacation, I wouldn't save Scampy's as my special night out place, rather it would be my go to "fried indulgence" place.

Everytime I come here the staff is so friendly and great!! The food is good and price is right!
(4)Victoria G.
On a night when most of the restaurants were closed, we stopped here to eat dinner. Every time we had passed by, the parking lot was full. Scampy's did not disappoint. Service was great. We ate on the patio. My husband got a special of fried mahi and shrimp and I got red beans and rice. It was a great meal. Just what we needed after a long day of fishing! Definitely recommend.
(4)Joshua D.
This was the second time my family and I have eaten here. We came here a few years ago and liked it so much we came back. (Edit: While Scampy's is good, we didn't return to Panama City Beach just for the restaurant haha). We noticed that they got a new sign and updated a bit. We were seated shortly after entering, and our hostess and waitress were both friendly and helpful. We've also eaten at Pineapple Willy's here in Panama City and we all agree that Scampy's is just as good, if not better than Pineapple Willy's.
(4)Niven H.
Steak and shrimp platter was very good. Service was kind and prompt. Clean and friendly place to eat and will recommend to my friends.
(3)Jackie H.
Went for dinner and it was way overpriced. I got shrimp and mahi mahi with cole slaw and hush puppies. It was 5:15 and I guess their $10 deal ends at 5 so I paid $19.99 for a fish basket! The cole slaw was terrible, didn't even eat it. The fish was good but not $20 good. I understand the deal is less food but double the price isn't worth it. I also wanted my mahi mahi fried and shrimp grilled but was told I could mix preparations. Why?!? My husband got the double dirt burger for a crazy $12. Nothing special. Also, there were flies in the restaurant which provides an immediate bad first impression. We did have key lime pie to go and it was good...probably because we ate it on our condo balcony listening to the waves.

What can you say but, WOW!!! These Oysters were amazing!!! The grilled chicken was the best I have ever eaten! Gator bites were delicious! Crab leg bites were delicious!! Will make sure to make this a stop again before we leave! Yum! Yum!
(5)Miriam F.
It was amazing!!!!! Best fish I've ever had! And great jambalaya!! Also great service and very quick! And the staff is so nice! Great restaurant I would definitely recommend it!!

This place is amazing! We used to go there years ago and had not been to Panama City Beach in 9 years, so we weren't even sure if it still existed. Not only does it still exist, it was better than ever. It is a very casual atmosphere. I am not a seafood fan, but I highly recommend their ribeye. My husband is a huge seafood fan and ordered their house shrimp scampi. It was excellent. Our kids ordered burgers and fries which were also great. We ordered cheese sticks and a blooming onion, and both of their sauces were their own recipe which were also excellent. In addition to all of the menu items that we ordered being excellent, the service was above and beyond excellent. Kudos to Amy our server!
(5)Rick G.
Went there to have some oysters on the half shell today, the waiter brought them and I must say it was the first time I've ever had them not served on a platter of ice. These weren't even that cold, totally ruined my oyster time. It ruined it so much we got the check and left. As for the place it looked descent and clean, just wished the oysters were better.

We stopped by Scampy's for a snack to go because you, my trusted Yelper's, told me they had awesome clam chowder. Bad Yelpers! No! The clam chowder tasted like low tide. It was awful. I would rather eat Campbell's Soup made with water instead of milk and heated up in a microwave. I'm glad we ordered cheese sticks because we threw out the chowder about 2 blocks away when I tasted it in the car. The fried cheese sticks were on point, btw. +1 point! The staff weren't very good at taking a to go order either. There was a lot of confusion and it took about 15 minutes. I don't think that it should take 15 minutes for soup to be ladled into a Styrofoam cup and some fried cheese to be thrown into a fryer and a box with a side of marinara.

Wait staff rocks, short wait!! Kid friendly, mahi mahi and rib eye excellent!! Would come again
(4)JJ S.
Went in for lunch 3 servers sitting at front, the hostess sat us. we were seated for over 15min and still no server!!! We left but on the way out informed the lady we had no service, she apologized and said we needed to check in with the hostess 1st, I informed her that we had.... Won't be back
(1)Autumn P.
Ate here for my birthday and my wish was that we had chosen somewhere else. It took about 20 min for us (a party of 3) to get seated--even though I could see at least ten empty tables. Service was slow and the food was just OK--although over priced for the quality. Needless to say, we will not be back. I was disappointed.
(2)Marynell C.
This is one of our favorite spots, the Garlic Laced Shrimp is yummy and the locals love this place. It can be crowded but worth the wait. Good service but the food is king. It is simply a beach bar and restaurant good food at good prices
(4)Tom S.
Excellent food with reasonable prices and excellent specials. Nice clean place with nautical atmosphere. Very prompt and friendly service. Easy parking.
